Release Notes Submission Guide

This guide provides a simple step-by-step process for submitting a Release Notes ticket request in the Training & Documentation (T&D) project board. All team members should follow this workflow to ensure consistency across product lines.

Step 1: Access the Jira Board

  • Go to the Training & Documentation Jira board
  • Click "Create" at the top of the page

Step 2: Complete Required fields


  • Under Work type select Release Notes
  • Leave the status as New
  • In the Summary field, use the following naming convention: [Product Name] – Release Notes – [MM.YYYY]

Step 3: Review and Complete the Release Notes Template


  • Download the Release Notes Template provided in the ticket description.
  • Refer to the Release Notes Example as a guide. This shows the level of detail and information our team needs to successfully publish the release notes.
  • Complete the Template by filling in the required release notes information in the template.
  • Review the completed template for accuracy and completeness before submitting.

Step 4: Attach the Document

  • Attach the completed Release Notes Template to the ticket in the Attachments or Description section.

Step 5: Submit

  • Click Create to submit the ticket.

By following this workflow, you ensure that Release Notes requests are consistent, accurate, and ready for publishing by the Training & Documentation team.
